Smoothie is always a great way to start the day. If you’re anything like me, you’re dragging, half asleep, for the first hour or so. Little man insists on waking me up before 7 am every day, so I need breakfast that doesn’t require much moving or thinking. Throwing delicious ingredients in the blender and pressing “pulse” is about as complicated as I want my week day breakfast to be.

I’ve been in LOVE with almond butter and banana flavor combo. Well, I’ve been in love with almond butter and banana just makes it so much better. I’ve been addicted to these smoothies or wheat toast with banana and almond butter in the morning. It’s awesome that it’s skinny too. I use skim milk and fat free Greek yogurt. To sweeten this smoothie, since it does not come out sweet on it’s own, I use some Sweet’N Low. Personally, I only need about half a packet per smoothie because I don’t want it too sweet but you can use as much as you’d like.

Another great time for this Almond Butter Banana Breakfast Smoothie is after a workout. I usually make myself a protein smoothie after I run by adding some whey or hemp protein powder. You can also use blueberries or raspberries instead of banana (about a cup), to change up the flavor.
