Heavenly one-pot tortellini dinner! Tortellini made with sweet Italian sausage, bell peppers, onion and tomato cream sauce.
TORTELLINI SKILLET
So I had a very interesting conversation with my husband the other day. I noted myself getting upset at him for eating cereal at lunch time. Before you get all judgy, let me explain…we have a ton of food! And I don’t mean we have a few things in the fridge, I mean, we have a TON of leftovers pretty much all the time.
I always make several things in a week to keep up with posting recipes here and some that are ideas in my head that I am testing. So there are plenty of nice choices for lunch available that are not cereal.
I was actually offended that my husband decided to eat cereal for lunch when we had meatballs, sausage and peppers, gnocchi and an apple cake! How, how in the world does one just forget about all that delicious food and just gets cereal? One of these days, I really am going to carry out my threats and start feeding the neighbors, even through he always runs to the fridge to shield it when I make this threat.
It’s cute and all but a chef likes to see their food being eaten to the last drop and not passed for cereal. So a lesson to all of you who has a loving cook living with you and cooking for you is, “EAT all the food to the last drop and don’t forget to make the yummy noises!” (Or we might cry.)

Is the tomato sauce from a can unseasoned or is it a jar of pasta-type tomato sauce?

Excellent dish! Seasoning perfect. It could have been a little saucier with fewer tortellini. But the flavor was superb.

I am glad you liked it, Cheryl!

I made this recipe, as written, tonight
Both my husband and I really liked this dish.
The flavors are well blended, nothing over powering.
This recipe is a keeper!

Thank you, Marie! I am so pleased you both liked it! 🙂

So many calories but oh so delicious. Since I was too lazy to peel the casing from the sausage, I bought the Italian Sweet Ground Sausage and broke it up in large pieces with a spatula. Served it with a Caesar salad and Parmesan Garlic Pesto Bread from my local bakery. Yum Yum!!

Katie, I am so glad you enjoyed it!

Is this a sisterhood moment?! I am standing with you in support. Lordy yes we have lots of delicious food. I’d make more but we eat it and hubby can’t stand leftovers. No, he doesn’t eat cereal but I could tell some stories. Gosh I wish we could get together. Anyway, my older kids — with families are BEGGING us to move closer ( well the grandsons are too) so that they we can start cooking even more. I LOVE to cook. You know, there are some people who don’t. I certainly don’t understand it but there are. The funny thing is not the eating part of it. I just like creating and doing it and seeing something delicious turn out. Oh well, I guess we just have to live with it. BTW, we are now in Orangeburg SC for the night and headed for Saint Simons Island, isn’t it supposed to be warm here? If you are heading in our direction let me know — we could have coffee 🙂

I completely agree 🙂
Thank you, Marisa! I hear SC is nice.
