Best thing to make out of leftover turkey yet. Turkey salad is a delicious alternative to a chicken salad and a great way to use leftover turkey. Pecans, sage, and Gruyere cheese add great flavors and compliment the holiday season very well.
Turkey Salad
Why yes, this is the 1001st holiday dinner leftover idea, but why stop?
I believe that we should have about a million ideas for recipes that we can do with leftover holidays food. Not just holiday food really, any leftovers that can get a “new life” the next day. Life really is too short to eat the same food all the time and too short to eat boring food. Why have the same exact thing two days in a row when you can taste something different? It’s more fun that way.
I know foodies of the world would definitely agree but my family on the other hand, it’s taking me a long time to convince most of them to keep trying new foods and flavors. They are definitely people who are loyal to their favorites and revisit them very often.
This year, and I’m safe to assume every year, I swore that I would give my husband and his family a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I guess they already know from my Christmas dinners that I like to go rogue and create different new meats and side dishes every year. But not Thanksgiving, they won’t let me touch the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. So, while I’m barred by my promise to give them all their favorites, they said nothing about leftovers. That’s fair game and I’m making up as many new things for leftovers and I can. Starting with this tasty Pecan, Sage, and Gruyere Turkey Salad.
