Champagne Cocktail

Champagne cocktails are great for serving at festive parties, brunch parties, and many other special occasions.

I love turning classic cocktails into champagne cocktails like this Sour Apple Champagne Cocktail. It’s very easy to adjust the cocktail recipe a little bit and add champagne. You get a festive cocktail in a couple easy steps.

Classic cosmopolitan cocktail is a simple combination of vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, and lime juice. The taste is slightly sweet and slightly tart. It’s not overpowering, very mild, and pleasant.

Quality of your cocktail always depends on quality of ingredients, so try to get better tasting ingredients. I recommend using 100% cranberry juice, fresh squeezed lime juice, Grand Marnier orange liqueur, and top shelf vodka of your choice.

Choice of champagne can affect the flavor as well so choose champagne that you prefer. Use brut or etra dry champagne if you want less sweet, more classic champagne tasting cocktail. If you want sweeter cocktail, you can choose Prosecco instead of champagne, or Martini & Rossi Asti.

How to make this champagne cocktail:

Gather your ingredients for easy assembly. Don’t open champagne until ready to pour it in.

Combine vodka, orange liqueur, lime juice, and cranberry juice in a martini shaker. Add a some ice cubes.

Close the shaker and give it a few good shakes. Pour into martini glasses right away, not giving ice a chance to melt.

Fill glasses about 2/3 of the way full so there is room for champagne.

Open champagne and slowly pour it into each glass.

You may garnish with lime twist, orange twist, or lime slices.

Is this cocktail gluten free?

This cocktail can be gluten free if using gluten free vodka. Tito’s vodka is gluten free and makes a great substitution for any other vodka.

Most champagnes are gluten free but you can double check the individual brands. The same is true with orange liqueur.
