Can I get a show of hands from everyone who is ready to sip something refreshing and fruity on their back decks and patios already? I think I have been ready since about two months ago! It seemed like winter was never going to end here. One day we had sunshine, 70 degree weather, & flip flops. And then a day later, it was snowing… again.
 
Now that the temperatures have warmed up and we have started getting the back deck ready for cookout season, the wheels are starting to turn with delicious pitchers of yumminess perfect for spring and summer that I can whip up for my guests. 
One of my favorites is this super simple Basil Infused Strawberry Lemonade.
 
But before I get to the recipe for that, let me first say hello and introduce myself to you all… 🙂

Last summer I became obsessed with making my own flavorful infused simple syrups.  Simple syrups are such an easy way to sweeten and add flavor to your favorite beverages be it iced tea, mojitos, and of course, lemonade.  For this Basil Infused Strawberry Lemonade recipe, I used a homemade basil infused simple syrup…

Basil Infused Strawberry Lemonade

One of my favorites is this super simple Basil Infused Strawberry Lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 6 lemons - juice only
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries- hulled chopped, & pureed
  • 1 cup basil infused simple syrup
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Lemon slices & fresh basil leaves for garnishing if desired

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher, mixed together the lemon juice, pureed strawberries, and basil infused simple syrup. Pour in the cold water and mix well.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Pour over ice and garnish with a lemon slice & basil leaves, if desired.
  • Enjoy!
