Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies make the best party appetizer and so easy with only 3 ingredients. It will be a crowd-pleasing appetizer and all you need is a package of smoked little sausage, a package of bacon, and maple syrup.
These little smokies are so addictive, everyone loves them from kids to adults. (They’re even better than my BBQ little smokies.) What’s not to love here? It’s smoked little sausages that are dipped in maple syrup and wrapped in bacon. No 3 ingredients have tasted better together.
Lit’l Smokies sausage come in all beef or pork and chicken flavors and you can choose either one. Both will taste wonderful with crispy bacon around it. You can use your favorite bacon for this recipe but make sure it’s not the thick cut and not center cut.
Thick cut bacon will take a long time to cook and the fat parts will not render completely. (And no one likes to chew on fatty pieces.) Center cut bacon will be too small to cut in 3 and won’t be enough to wrap all the sausages.
The best bacon I found for this recipe is the maple bacon. Maple flavor in the bacon is a great compliment to the maple syrup on the sausage.
It really is an easy appetizer, even though it takes a few minutes to wrap the bacon around each sausage. But don’t worry, you can make it the night before and bake it when ready. (Just keep it refrigerated.)
