Wonderful fall cocktail that is perfect to serve at holiday gatherings. Refreshing Apple Sangria spiced with cloves, fresh ground nutmeg and cinnamon stick.
I make it a point not to go to the World Market too often because I tend to go a little crazy there. This last trip, I went overboard on spice. More specifically, I went a little crazy on fall kind of spices. I got a bag of cinnamon stick (completely forgetting that I already have one at home), got a jar of whole nutmeg and a bag of cloves. So my weekend was filled with using these spices in some great recipes, much like this one. Apartment has been smelling pretty good. At one point, I just stood in my kitchen with my nose in the bag of cloves. Ahhh, I love those scents.
This is a great fall cocktail. It would be perfect for any holiday parties or even a Thanksgiving dinner. In my family, sangria is as much of a tradition on Thanksgiving as turkey itself. You know how crazy holiday gatherings can get, and you know it would be a little more fun holding a glass of this apple sangria.
I love this recipe because it can be adjusted to your personal sweetness preference. If you like your cocktails a little sweeter, use Moscato wine and 7Up (or Sprite) soda. If you like your cocktails less sweet, use Riesling and club soda.
I also recommend that you prepare this sangria on the night before the event. It is much better when refrigerated overnight because apple get a chance to infuse the cocktail and vice versa.

I just came across the apple sangria picture on Pinterest ~ and I plan to pin it but I just want to say that the Pop Up Ad that continually comes up is extremely annoying. I do realize the adds are money makers but we really should have the choice to NOT have to continue seeing it after the first three times.
Just my opinion.
