Simple and heavenly dessert hot chocolate! Rich milk hot chocolate made with caramel and marshmallow fluff. (Make it with salted caramel for a bigger flavor impact.)
Oh how I wish the weather was cooler (much, much cooler) so that I could enjoy my hot cocoa the way it was meant to be enjoyed, wrapped in a big blanket, sitting next to a fire place, after coming home for the cold. But it’s just not in the stars for us. I feel like we usually have colder weather by mid December but it’s still stuck on mid 70s and 80s around here. I have all this cute warm clothes and I can’t even wear it yet. We need some snowflakes stat!
Even though we are still wearing t-shirts and tank tops here in December, nothing is stopping me from having some hot cocoa. It’s a must-have drink to enjoy in the winter months, no matter the weather. Hot chocolate is cozy and comforting every time and is sure to instantly brighten your mood. Especially when you load this chocolaty drink with some more delightful sweet ingredients.
While enjoying some family time together, make a round of this fabulous dessert hot chocolate. It’s flavored with caramel topping and topped with some marshmallow fluff. It is SO much fun to drink this hot cocoa while it’s coated with marshmallow fluff on top.
Kids would be trying to “take a bite” of the caramely-marshmallow topping, while sipping. I haven’t laughed as hard in a long time as when I watched my little man enjoy this hot cocoa. Finally, he grabbed a straw and a spoon. He really didn’t want to mix it all together like we did, he preferred to enjoy the topping and the caramel hot cocoa separately.
Caramel Marshmallow Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 3 cups Hot Chocolate
- 2 Tbsp caramel topping
- 1/2 cup marshmallow fluff
- More caramel topping for drizzle
- find homemade caramel recipe here if you wish
Instructions
- Heat hot chocolate in a sauce pot, over medium heat.
- Once hot chocolate is hot, stir in 2 tablespoons of caramel topping. Stir until melted and incorporated.
- Divide hot chocolate among two (or three) mugs. Spoon marshmallow fluff on top of hot chocolate in each mug. Drizzle some more caramel topping on top of marshmallow fluff and serve right away.
