So, hubby asked me if I was on a coffee kick lately, to which I replied…
“Hi there, my name is Lyuba, you must be new here?!”
Seriously, it’s like he just met me! I’ve had a full blown coffee addiction since he met me. Come to think of it, he even bough me a nice new coffee maker one year because my old one couldn’t take it anymore. Funny guy…
Well, my “new” coffee maker is now six years old and begging for mercy. Woose! Not really, it handled it’s job very well all these years, it truly was time for it to retire. Guess what shows up on my door step, just in time!
The package arrived when I wasn’t home. Hubby calls me and asks why in the world do I need a huge box of staples. Haha, the address label said that it came from Staples. When I told him that it was a coffee maker, he thought that I was joking. Originally, when Staples asked me to review one of the kitchen appliances that they offer, I had to do a double take as well. Staples…? Kitchen Appliance…? For real…?
Turns out they do offer quite a verity of kitchen appliances. It was hard to decide what to review and then I hear the crying and begging coming from my coffee maker. There may have been some threatening to quit too. I had no choice, it was time for a new toy to help me get through the rest of the semester. Last three weeks of school are tough with the papers due and the finals! Need lots of coffee!
I gotta say, I made the right choice! This little guy is the Delonghi Programmable 14 Cup Drip Coffee Brewer. Yeah…you read it right…14 cup! Who needs 14 cups you ask? A mom of a busy little toddler who is also a grad student and self employed! September through December and January through April…I NEED my coffee!
Let me tell you, this angel has it ready for me in the morning as I wake up to make everyone breakfast and get the kiddo ready for school. One of my favorite features is the “freshness indicator.” It beeps when your coffee is ready, then it beep again after 15 minutes, and again after 30 minutes and again after 45 minutes, if you did not get your coffee yet. After that you might as well brew a new cup! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made a cup of coffee only to start running around and forget about it. Not anymore, because the coffee maker will beep at me to remind me!
My second favorite feature is the “aroma” button. At first, I though that it’s a useless button. I mean common, how important can it be? Turns out pretty important. See, I don’t discriminate much between flavored coffee and regular coffee, I just have specific preferences in brands. When I make flavored coffee, I honestly don’t notice much difference between brewing with “aroma” or without. When I make regular coffee, there is a big difference in flavor! Love it!
So one morning, I decided to make a little coffee treat for hubby and myself. He is a huge S’mores fan but not a big coffee fan. I made a perfect way for him to enjoy coffee when he needs it!
That’s right! S’Mores Frozen Coffee!
- Makes 2
- 3 cups of your favorite, unflavored, brewed coffee, (cold)
- 5 large marshmallows
- 2 tbs hot fudge
- 1 packet of sweetener (or regular sugar)
- Frozen coffee ice cubes (about a cup)
- I usually have some frozen coffee ice cubes in the freezer during the warm weather, to use in frozen coffee beverages. Freeze some coffee cubes the night before, so you will have it in the morning.
- Combine the ingredients in the blender and pulse until smooth.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the deliciousness!
