Guess what?!! My friend had her baby boy this week! She had him only a couple of hours before my son’s birthday. The little guy already has a Leo personality, he will not share his birthday with anyone. True Leo!
Last week, I shared the cake that I made for her baby shower. (Rose Cake Here). Today, I wanted to share the other cake that I made for her. I made her a diaper cake. It was the first time that I ever made a diaper cake. I think it turned out pretty well for my first time.
Diaper cake is time consuming but rewarding in the end. You will need:
2 packs of diapers (I used number 2)
String
Ribbon
3-foot wooden stick, ( I used rulers )
Large tube of Butt Paste
2 small bottles of bath wash
1 tube of lip balm
6 wash cloths
Lion toy
1. Separate the diapers and roll them up. Tie each diaper with some thread. Separate the diapers into 3 piles, one smaller than the other.
2. Combine the diaper rolls into 3 “cake tiers” and tie them with a string. Stack them one on top of the other. Place the stick in the middle to stabilize the cake.
3. Tie the ribbons around the cake tiers. Tie on the cream, bath wash and lip balm into the ribbons. Tie on the lion toy as a cake topper.

I think it looks great! I have never made one but got one when I had our second baby and it wasn’t until we took it apart that I appreciated just how much work goes into making them!
